As Supervisor, it is my great honor to serve the residents of Monee Township. I oversee the General Assistance Program and as Treasurer I try to make sure all township residents that qualify receive any and all financial help the township is allowed to give.
On an annual basis we help support financially the transportation fund for the Eastern Will County Senior Services Center located in the Village of Monee. We also request applications, for other potential donations, from all of the youth groups located within our township boundaries or that strictly service our township residents.
The food pantry is currently run by the township and is supplemented by the annual food drives that are held by various township organizations during the November-December holiday season. Throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, food baskets and gifts for children are handed out to township families that have fallen on hard times. This small token from the township adds meaning and a little boost of holiday cheer to the families that need it the most.
To all who help in this tremendously large endeavor, it also gives the satisfaction of knowing you helped, which is what Township Government is all about. Helping the youth, the seniors and those in need.
